Sigma Kappa 150th Anniversary Sisterhood Quilt, May 19, 2024

This quilt was submitted as part of the Sigma Kappa’s 150th Anniversary Call for Art and traveled as part of the 150th Celebration Tour. After the tour is complete, the quilt was gifted to Xi Chapter at the University of Kansas. Creators Marlene Wise Braunsdorf, Carolyn Rothery, Catherine Eeroyd, Xi, University of Kansas, write about the quilt: "Three of us sisters have been working on it together and this quilt has traveled back and forth from the Texas border to Mexico to Lenexa, Kansas. It is friendship star blocks made from many different pieces of fabric, just like there are many pieces of Sigma Kappa. Although the three of us went different directions (nurse, teacher, attorney), we keep in touch and remain friends.”
